In the Sun

Today I sat in the sun

enveloped by its warm lux,

my worries I left to sink

and cursed the night

that lurks in the shadows

of passengers strolling the way

into a null existence;

As I surrendered to the charm,

my worries did melt

and the sun lit the way

to immortality

earnest

heartfelt

Today I sat in the sun,

and there I sat for long

your image in my head

a reflection of all light

an illumination of tomorrow

a spark of possibility;

and I love you

Trust I do;

under the sun

in the moonlit dark

the truth revealed;

and as the heart aches

in the sun,

the dormant soul it wakes

is never again to be healed.
