Look at me
Look at my face
Those eyes you see
shine bright
that heart beneath
throbs with light;
You deem to know the way I think;
you think and think
but know nothing;
My mother bestowed her love
upon my heart,
instilled it deep in my soul
from the very start;
Her wisdom fills my existence
her empathy, joy, and persistence
are all that I am and will be;
who are you to judge me?
If you are lonely or in despair,
this agony we could together share;
If you are grieving with utter pain,
do not scorn me with your disdain;
I am exempt from your false claim,
and I refuse to take the blame.
